UNDAUNTED
For a few very hard years this word was my mantra.
The word means
-undismayed; not discouraged; not forced to abandon purpose or effort
-undiminished in courage or valor; not giving way to fear
But the truth is, I was often dismayed by everything that had taken place, and I did battle discouragement. I battled fear and doubts. I hurt and was angry, and sometimes "undaunted" sounded more like a mockery than a mantra, and I was determined to be real about all of it in these posts, thus the name, Undaunted Reality. More than that, though, I was determined to live undaunted, not because I'm so great or strong, but because my God is, and no matter what this world looks like, He is the only reality that matters.
I pray I live the reality of Him beautifully undaunted.

Beautiful Women Part 1--Of Sizable Importance

In the last few weeks I've seen the topic of size and women's self-image on several blogs. As I prayed about this, the Lord gave me the most wonderful homework, and I pass it on to you.

Find in the Bible the size and weight of any of the following women:
Ruth
Esther
Naomi
Rahab
Debra
Sarah
Bathsheba
The Shulamite Woman in Song of Solomon
Abigail

I'll give you until Friday to find out, and then I'll tell you the rest of what God had to say about it.

Blessings!!!

  1. Interesting assignment Jerri - you know I never thought about the weights of any of those ladies. I just thought of them as women I could learn from.

  2. Jerri,
Ok I see your point that God has not put a size and weight on any of these ladies. That He considered that beautiful in and of themselves. So .... what else has he been telling you? I did just receive the book "Captivating" so that will be my reading as I recover from back sergery in the next few weeks.

Did my homework last night, and it was just as I suspected - not ONCE was height or weight mentioned.
"Just" beauty, wisdom, intelligence and most of all, favor. What a thing our current society has foisted on us! But to be honest, there has always been something- a false standard.
