UNDAUNTED
For a few very hard years this word was my mantra.
The word means
-undismayed; not discouraged; not forced to abandon purpose or effort
-undiminished in courage or valor; not giving way to fear
But the truth is, I was often dismayed by everything that had taken place, and I did battle discouragement. I battled fear and doubts. I hurt and was angry, and sometimes "undaunted" sounded more like a mockery than a mantra, and I was determined to be real about all of it in these posts, thus the name, Undaunted Reality. More than that, though, I was determined to live undaunted, not because I'm so great or strong, but because my God is, and no matter what this world looks like, He is the only reality that matters.
I pray I live the reality of Him beautifully undaunted.

The Important Part of the Picture isn't where You've Been, It's that You are Here

Tuesday coming in, and I'm wondering where January has gone, and where the week is alrady going, and maybe you are wondering like I did for a long time--where did my life go and what did I do? Because sometimes looking back we look back to see what we hoped for, and when we don't see that, we see nothing at all. But that isn't true. You might not see what you hoped life would be, but you may have become more than what you ever hoped for.

The crazy part of living a life that looks crazy is the persistence and courage that roots down deep in us and keeps us holding on when the storms fly crazy and the road ahead is beyond our ability to see. While we are not building the life we expected, we are building the ability to keep believing in and fighting for life.

We are learning not to be quitters, and the fact that you are still here says something in your picture is still what you hoped for because you hoped to still be part of the picture.

Is it the exact picture you had in your head? No. But I don't know anyone who actually gets that anyway. So today, instead of looking back and seeing how it doesn't match what you had in mind, can I give you some hope that you're being here says it can still look amazing?

See, the main part of the picture is your presence, so don't let the past tell you what it can't be. Let the fact that you are here give you hope of what it can still be.

Praying for you as you stand and hope...
Love and prayers,
Jerri
